Laundry Driver

The Laundry Attendant/Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering linen used by Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Banquet, Spa, Wardrobe and Pool. This requires driving the laundry box truck to different locations, within the Resort Operations, where the driver transports, loads and unloads a variety of full/empty transport bins, carts and clothing hanging racks. Periodically the driver will assist with the laundry processing, i.e., helping with the washers, dryers, ironers sorting and folding. 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all drivers duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED). 

 Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds frequently. To push or pull an average of 400-500 lb. rolling carts. 

 Must be able to stoop, bend, twist with frequency. 

 Must be able to be active-- driving, in and out of truck/buildings, loading & unloading. 

 Must have an acceptable driving record by company standards and be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a valid Indiana For-Hire endorsement or CDL. 

 Must be able to reach 72 inches. 

 Must be able to work in different weather conditions. 

 Must be able to work varied hours, including holidays and weekends. 

 Must be responsible for the laundry truck and its performance. 

 Must have the ability to effectively interact with the departments, guests and employees. 

 Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1. Performs all duties in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies. 

2. Must be flexible to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand. 

3. Follows all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment, road conditions and the public. 

4. Maintains uniform and grooming standards as outlined in employee handbook and departmental training. 

5. Insures that all transport bins are secured while transporting to different locations. 

6. Loads/unloads a variety of transport bins, with the use of automatic cargo lift system. 

7. Loads/unloads at a variety of locations: Docks and flat surfaces. 

8. Ability to backup to docks and close quarters that may have obstacles and other vehicles/trucks. 

9. Must be able to push/pull transports up and down graded hallways, elevators and tight corners. 

10. Must keep the laundry truck clean,(inside and out), checks oil, water, tire levels, and gas fills. 

11. Must be aware of the laundry processing flow in order to manage delivery and pickup times. 

12. Must be responsible in managing time without continuous supervision. 

13. Able to weigh and tare all bins as they are delivered to the laundry sorting area. 

14. Communicates any requests from linen usage departments to laundry management. 

15. Monitors message boards located in department daily. 

16. Provides assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by the immediate superior. 

17. Must be flexible to deliver and pickup urgent requests. 

18. Be aware of housekeeping, f & b, resort activities and the laundry department. 

19. Must maintain and be responsible for in and out log data.
